Orientation: Once your home purchase has been finalized, a staff member will schedule a Buyer Orientation in our Design Center. In this meeting, you will review standard specifications for the build, discuss upgrade opportunities and make any available selections. Depending on the status of the build, you may have several interior and exterior selections to finalize, such as; window color, siding details, masonry, roof color, exterior paint, garage & exterior doors, minor (non-structural) framing modifications, plumbing color, interior doors, millwork & trim package as well as any special requests that you may have.
Surfaces: A separate meeting is scheduled directly with the Surface Vendor and will take place at the Vendor’s showroom. Rather than choose from pre-selected packages, you will have the opportunity to completely customize your hard surfaces, including wood flooring, carpet, tile, countertop & backsplash materials. You will also select your cabinet finish and interior paint colors.
Cabinets: All of our cabinets are custom built for every home. At the appropriate time in construction, our cabinet vendor will provide a full set of drawings and elevations for your review and customization. Pull-out shelving, specialty hardware, spice racks and custom hood covers are just a few of the common add-on features. Nearly any special design request can be accommodated to create the kitchen, bathroom or built-in storage that functions perfectly for your particular needs.
Appliance: Should you prefer to do so, you are able to modify or add to your standard appliance package.
Framing Walk: This on-site meeting will take place approximately half way through the build. While electrical wiring is the main topic of discussion (light, switch and outlet locations, specialty wiring options & etc.) a number of other team members will also be in attendance. The cabinet vendor will review your finalized cabinet layout with you for a final sign off before the cabinets move into production. Our finish carpenter will discuss any special millwork request such as wainscoting, fireplace mantels, built-in shelving and closet layouts. Your site manager and design coordinator will also be available to answer any questions that you have.
Lighting: Once the house has been wired, you will meet with our lighting representative to create a custom lighting package that exactly fits your taste.
Landscape & Fencing: Near the end of construction, you will have an opportunity to discuss types & placement of plants & shrubs with our landscape team as well as irrigations and any special landscape design requests that you might have.
Final Walk: After construction is complete, your site manager will walk with you through your new home so that you may flag any touch up items that need to be addressed prior to closing.
